Description
Organized by the Serbian Youth Cultural Association with the support of the Municipality of Trieste – Department of Culture and Tourism Policies Main sponsor: ZKB Banca, with the contribution of the Polojaz Foundation
The exhibition features original drawings, illustrated stories, and real and fictional characters spanning eras and places, with a particular focus on the city of Trieste and its symbols. At the center of the exhibition is Nikola Tesla, protagonist of the graphic novel Tesla: Lord of Lightning – The Origins, which recounts his childhood and education, culminating in his journey to America. His figure is not merely narrative, but conceptual: a common thread connecting the various artistic and cultural currents explored by Mišić.
Živorad Mišić (Zatonje, Yugoslavia, 1961), a poet, writer, painter, and cartoonist, has lived in Trieste since 1989, where he began his intense artistic career. He published his first comic book in Italian in 1997, Sonja a Trieste, marking the beginning of a career rich in works and accolades. He is one of the founders and former Vice President of the Trieste Comics Academy and has been teaching comics techniques for over eighteen years, with a style that combines irony, historical memory, and attention to the human context.
