The Ictus Ensemble of Brussels and some young musicians from the Index Ensemble come together to represent the visionary scope of Fausto Romitelli's work. Amok Koma, Seascape, and Trash TV Trance: three strange and intense works, written at the turn of the millennium, when a new atmosphere was beginning to emerge from the intersection of contemporary music, electronic music, and pop culture, like a pressure cooker ready to explode. Obsessed with the world of David Lynch, the Gorizia-born composer managed to capture this dizzying gesture in music: delving into the heart of matter to probe the underlying noise of being, always intrinsically diabolical. Physical energy, imagination, and a taste for surprise place Romitelli's aesthetic at the antipodes of depression. A similar experience is found in Frederic Rzewski's diptych "Coming Together": a long spell recited against a backdrop of whirling, frenetic, and obsessive rhythmic sequences, the Dark Side of Minimalism.

6:30 pm conference on the topic of Contemporary Music Before and After Romitelli. Speakers include Alessandro Arbo (philosopher and musicologist), Jean-Luc Plouvier (keyboardist and composer), Roberto Calabretto (music critic), Cecilia Balestra (Director of Milano Musica), and Anna Del Bianco (Central Director of the Department of Culture and Sport, Friuli Venezia Giulia Region).

The concert will be followed by a free food and wine tasting of typical local products.
