As is traditional, the Muggia Summer Carnival returns
from 7th to 15th August 2026 to liven up the summer in Muggia.
Performances from 9 pm onwards in Piazzale Caliterna.
The food and wine stalls open at 6.30 pm.
Programme
Friday 7th August
- 8.00 pm: opening ceremony and welcome address by the authorities;
- followed by the children from the Muggia Council’s “Summer Recreation Programme” and “Primary School Summer Camp”, who, as is tradition, will open the Summer Carnival with a colourful and cheerful performance, featuring original costumes and imaginative scenery created by the children during the summer programmes;
- this will be followed by the Compagnia Ongia Band, whose repertoire ranges from traditional folk tunes to pop music, from film soundtracks to swing hits.
Saturday 8th August
- 7.00 pm "Carneval Run", the world’s craziest fancy dress race, starting from Piazzale Caliterna;
- 9.00 pm "Shaky Up", an entertaining show where the dancers on stage lead the audience in group dances and easy-to-follow choreography, set to the tunes of the greatest dance hits from yesterday and today.
Sunday 9th August
- 7.00 pm "Vogadamata", a race between fancy-dress boats made from the most imaginative materials. Rules available at www.carnevaldemuja.com
- 9.00 pm “Pet & Sons”, a band with a history stretching back over a decade, offering pure, all-round entertainment, ranging from pop to rock, rap, Italian revival and 90s dance music – all strictly live!
Monday 10th August
9.00 pm: performance by the musical duo
“Lato - D”,
comprising Daria Sperotto and Alberto Bossi. The duo present a show that highlights the singer’s black & soul style and the drummer’s solid groove.
Tuesday 11th August
9.00 pm: performance by the
“Theory Big Band”, a 25-piece orchestra, which, with its 2026 project “Playlist without borders”, is bringing to life a musical concept in which the selected songs – both Italian and international – will get three generations of the audience involved, dancing and singing along.
Wednesday 12th August
9.00 pm: performance by the
“Rockoverband” with their live show “Curva Dritta”, featuring Mauro Manni – a live music and entertainment show featuring the greatest hits of yesterday and today, revival tunes, dance music and group dances. An engaging show where the audience sings, dances and takes centre stage at the party.
Thursday 13th August
9.00 pm: performance by the band
"The Jaguars", playing timeless hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Get ready to sing along, clap your hands, dance and take a trip down memory lane.
Friday 14th August
9.00 pm: performance by
"Dancemania", a band comprising a female vocalist, guitar, bass and drums. Their show is a musical journey through the songs that have got whole generations dancing. From the great dance and pop classics of the 1970s and 1980s, through the unforgettable hits of the 1990s and 2000s, right up to the most recent Italian hits.
Saturday 15th August
The Muggia Summer Carnival is set to say goodbye to the public with a special evening: The Last Dance – L’Ultima Danza. This will be the final event of this year’s festival: a musical journey celebrating 72 years of the Carneval de Muja, revisiting the songs and memories that have got whole generations dancing. From 8.00 pm to midnight, Piazzale Caliterna will be transformed into a huge open-air dance floor with a DJ set that’s 100% Made in Muja.
