With the advent of social media and virtual reality, a new concept of the body is emerging, a body pushed far beyond its traditional physical and biological form, a body that can interact and communicate through images, texts and videos, and which completely escapes the physical, sensory bodily experience that is fundamental to consolidating and rooting experiences. HOPE aims to affirm the importance of the materiality of the body and, by extension, that of physical experience, also in relation to the new bodies that the project examines in various aspects: from the social body to the technological body, from the biological body to the political body. The project aims to recognise in each of these a fundamental part of the experience of our present, providing insights into how the concept of the body is evolving.
