Description

Life is like a dream, a musical show that pays homage to Central European operetta, drawing on composers such as Johann Strauss (Jr.), Franz Lehár and Emmerich Kálmán, in a constant interplay between dream and reality. “Life is a dream,” wrote Calderón de la Barca, and it is precisely from this vision that the show will take shape.
Playwright Nadia Pastorcich has created a play that aims to transport the audience into a dream through the magic of operetta. Bringing her words to life will be actor Julian Sgherla, accompanied by soprano Ilaria Zanetti, whilst the music will be performed by the Ensemble of the G. Verdi Civic Wind Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Matteo Firmi. For a few hours, the audience will be able to enjoy an experience with a touch of the past, evoking a bygone world that still manages to stir the soul and warm the heart. It will be an evening dedicated to the beauty that only music can bestow, reinforcing the bond between Trieste, Vienna and Budapest that remains present in our city’s collective history.
