Perteole's animated nativity scene - A centennial history that began in the 1920s shows the tradition and faith of the villagers, as well as their passion dedicated to the representation of the Nativity.
The current shape of the Perteole Nativity, which has its roots in 1968, is the result of 50 years of constant technical and artistic evolution and reproduces a Palestinian landscape of two thousand years ago, an extraordinarily accurate reconstruction and rich in miniature details, with over a hundred animations that emulate trades, moments of socializing and scenes of everyday life.
The electromechanical complex is synchronized through digital technologies, in a scenography that also shows the constellations of the sky as seen in Palestine when Jesus was born, in particular the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the constellation of Pisces followed by the Magi. A continuous cycle of lights and sounds accompanies the phases from dawn to dusk, culminating in the Mystery of the Holy Night.
