Inauguration of a mural in Muggia

Description

On Monday 27th April 2026, at 12 noon, the mural commissioned by the Municipality of Muggia will be inaugurated on the wall of the Cantieri San Rocco shipyard in Via Trieste. Created by street artists Davide Comelli and Mattia Campo Dall’Orto, it is dedicated to the history of the city.

The inauguration, which is open to the public, will be attended by Mayor Paolo Polidori and the artists.

The artwork is 4.2 metres high and 92 metres long, stretching across the entire façade, depicting various historical periods linked to the city, with particular emphasis on shipbuilding: a snapshot of Muggia’s history, with references to ancient Rome, the Lion of the Serenissima, and the Felszegi shipyards.  The exhibition highlights moments in the lives of some of the key figures from past centuries: from washerwomen and shipyard workers to the children of Muggia who, decades ago, used to dive off Pier "T".
