Tradition and modernity naturally come together in Emmet Cohen’s piano playing. His elegant touch, deep knowledge of jazz history, and natural ability to engage with audiences have made him one of the most compelling figures on the new American jazz scene.
During the pandemic, he launched the Live from Emmet’s Place series, which went on to become an international reference point and a new way of sharing live jazz with audiences around the world.
At Il Volo del Jazz, he presents Miles & Coltrane at 100, a project celebrating the centenary of the births of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. More than a tribute, it is a fresh interpretation of their artistic legacy, bringing back the modernity, freedom, and revolutionary force of two musicians destined to change the history of jazz forever.
