Exhibition "Trieste Maritime: Shipping Companies, the Port and Services from 1836 to 1975"

Description

The exhibition focuses in particular on Lloyd Triestino, whilst also covering the other companies that have operated in the port of Trieste, including those involved in coastal shipping.
Unique model replicas of the ships, previously unpublished photographic and iconographic material, and artefacts from the period illustrate the services provided by the historic shipping companies that operated in the port of Trieste, such as the Austrian Lloyd, later Lloyd Triestino, and subsequently Austro Americana, Cosulich, Italia, Adriatica, N.L.T. and Istria-Trieste, right through to the smaller independent or coastal shipping companies.
Further sections of the exhibition are dedicated to the development of the Port of Trieste.
