Exhibition "Ships of Adriatic and of Ionian Sea in Modern Age (1650-1850)"

Description

Opening: Thursday 30th July at 11 am.
The exhibition stems from the analysis of a vast body of 18th-century documentation—including records of vessel movements in ports, sailors' confraternities, registers of captains and shipowners, administrative papers, and accounts of maritime mishaps—gathered from archives in various locations by the Croatian scholar Nikola Čolak (1914–1996) and compiled in the *Regesti marittimi croati* (Croatian Maritime Registers), volumes I–IV. The exhibition showcases 62 types of historical vessels, reconstructed through the analysis of approximately 20,000 18th-century documents. Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
