Description
The exhibition represents the Italian stage of the European project of the same name, and was created with the aim of providing a space for encounter, reflection, and dialogue through contemporary art. The initiative is promoted by Mimma Dreams APS, a social promotion association active in the promotion of culture and human rights, which uses art as a tool for inclusion, civic participation, and social cohesion. The exhibition brings together the works of nine Ukrainian artists displaced by the war and now residing in Italy, Poland, and Portugal. The works explore the theme of liminality, that is, the condition suspended "between two worlds"—geographical, cultural, and identity—that unites those who have experienced uprootedness and migration. In addition to the exhibition, the initiative includes a public opening on Saturday, January 10th at 4:00 PM at the Sala Comunale d'Arte in Trieste, with a presentation of the project and a meeting with the public, thus encouraging active participation and raising awareness of the themes of inclusion, peace, and European solidarity. The exhibition is open from January 11th to 19th at the Sala Comunale d'Arte in Trieste from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on January 20th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. From January 20th to February 10th, at the Sala Fittke from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Free admission.
