Description
Arkeo approached sculpture over a decade ago, the result of a creative vocation that matured over time and was fueled by a layered gaze, both projective and archaic. This dual tension runs through his entire research, resulting in works that seem to belong to a suspended dimension, outside of linear time. In a context dominated by appearance and overexposure, Arkeo's deliberate anonymity takes the form of a gesture of conscious subtraction: the artist withdraws to make room for the work, entrusting sculpture with the possibility of establishing a direct, essential, unmediated dialogue. His creations arise from the assembly of found objects and recycled materials, fragments of reality recovered and recomposed according to a formal language of strong symbolic intensity. In this process, the material is transfigured: it loses its original function and is imbued with new resonances, becoming the vehicle of a narrative that oscillates between memory and vision. Arkeo's sculptures exude a magnetic sensitivity: they capture the gaze and then lead it beyond the surface, toward a deeper, almost initiatory dimension. They are enigmatic presences, generated by dreamlike suggestions, which emerge like relics of an archaic imagination, yet projected into the future.
