After her sensational concert a couple of years ago, DALILA KAYROS (Dalila Kayros – vocals / Danilo Casti – electronics) returns to visit us on Friday 31 October at 8.15 pm at the auditorium of the Casa della Musica in Via dei Capitelli 3, Trieste.
The occasion for her return to the Circolo del Jazz Thelonious programme is the release of her latest album, “Khthonia”.
The new album follows inexorably in the footsteps of the previous ‘Animami’ (2022), revealing itself to be partly more accessible but above all even more solid and compact in terms of production: nine tracks of pure avant-garde, from which a dark tribalism emerges, capable of closely linking the archaic past of an island with its lively contemporaneity.
The Sardinian language overlaps with rather daring electronic bases, while Dalila Kayros' voice explores every possible universe, going beyond melody and beyond the easiest combinations (it would be reductive to mention any source of inspiration in the presence of such a kaleidoscopic personality). This is why “Khthonia” is a soundscape that is multifaceted to say the least, capable of bringing water, earth, fire and air into contact. Suggestions that enchant like a nursery rhyme and like a pagan ritual performed by dancing without restraint.
