Description
On Saturday 24th October 2026 at 8.00 pm, at the Circolo Unificato dell’Esercito di Trieste “Villa Italia” concert will take place, organised by the "Amici della Musica" APS City of Muggia Wind Orchestra.
The event is dedicated to commemorating the anniversaries of the Battles of Caporetto (1917) and Vittorio Veneto (1918), decisive moments in Italian history during the First World War.
"Note in Marcia" offers
a historical and musical journey from the 18th century to the present day, with the aim of demonstrating how the march, understood as a complete piece of music, has accompanied humanity’s progress over the centuries. The programme includes performances of works by: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Gaetano Donizetti, Louis Spohr, Charles Gounod, Giacomo Meyerbeer (Classical and Romantic periods, 18th–19th centuries); Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Domenico Cortopassi, Kenneth J. Alford, George Gershwin, Henry Mancini and František Zita (19th and 20th centuries).
Each piece will be contextualised through explanations of its style, instrumentation and historical period, presented in an accessible manner for the general public.
The performance will be given
by thirty musicians from the "Amici della Musica" APS City of Muggia Wind Orchestra, under the musical direction of conductor Andrea Sfetez.
The event is aimed at the general public, schools, cultural and musical associations, and anyone wishing to learn more about the history and culture of the local area.
Admission is free, subject to availability.
