The welcome return of a young Friulian conductor, Alberto Gaspardo, who has been active in Switzerland for years, will return to perform two of the German composer's most captivating cantatas with the Coro FVG and the Filarmonici Friulani.

The two cantatas on the program are the only ones from Bach's monumental corpus that feature the chorale's cantus firmus with the aid of the natural trombone. Typically, in cantatas, the chorale's theme is entrusted to the upper voice with the horn doubling. In this case, the harmony is reversed, with the chorale in the bass.
