Description
“Transcription or original?” This question strikes at the very heart of musical creation: when a work changes its guise, does it remain the same?
The Luigi Bon Foundation—recently recognized as a music production entity—dedicates a program to Beethoven that juxtaposes two emblematic works from his chamber music repertoire. On one hand, the *Septet*, one of the young Beethoven’s most beloved and successful compositions, capable of instantly captivating audiences with its rich tonal colors and the natural flow of its instrumental dialogue. On the other, the *Quartet Op. 16a*, created by Beethoven himself as a reimagining of the *Quintet Op. 16* for piano and winds.
This was a significant move for a composer who was fiercely protective of his music and generally reluctant to accept transcriptions made by others.
Here, it is Beethoven himself who reinvents timbres, balances, and perspectives, demonstrating how a composition can shift its form without losing its identity.
Bringing this sophisticated interplay of musical reflections to life is an ensemble of performers with distinguished chamber music experience, including members of the Quartetto Indaco, orchestral principals, and international competition winners.
