As orally transmitted the artistic and historical crib of the Ursulines at the Monastery S.Maria in Valle in Cividale del Friuli should have been created in the second half of 18th century. However, the costumes are rather linked with 19th century. The little statues were created by the nuns in their silent seclusion by reproducing figures walking through the market and the streets of the town and were even “baptized” by using the local names of that time: Iustin, Agnul, Checo...
