48th The living presentation of the Passion an Death of our Lord Jesus Christ

Every year, the Un Grup di Amis di Ciconicco association renews its commitment to staging the Sacred Representation of the Passion of Christ. For some, this gesture stems from faith, but for everyone, it is part of the history and identity of our community.’ With these words, President Andrea Schiffo introduces the 48th edition of the Living Passion. A living representation, an immersive open-air theatre, a unique experience.
For the third consecutive year, the direction is entrusted to Luca Ferri, a prestigious name in theatre in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, and the set design is once again entrusted to Luigina Tusini, an artist and renowned expert in installation design. The central theme of the story will be FIRE, the symbolic element of divine love, as emphasised by the head of the Parish Community of Fagagna, Don Daniele Calligaris. The text is constructed like a large choral fresco, and the director's choice of set design is radical and engaging: the action takes place on a large circular platform and is manifested through the circle. A symbol of community and ritual. The director's words on this edition: “This story is not just a memory of a past event, it is a present act, an invitation to carry the flame with you. Because the world does not need spectators. It needs guardians. The ritual ends. Responsibility begins”. Once again, a new and unique edition, and therefore even more precious and unmissable.

Our Passion Play is held on open air, encased within our beautiful hills. We have some seats so make sure you come on time to take place. If you prefer or don’t find a seat, there is a large area where you can see the Play up-standing. Duration is around one hour and the Play will be performed even with uncertain weather conditions. Please mind that the Play could be cancelled at any time if weather conditions are not safe enough. You can park anywhere in the surroundings.
