The final stage of the Walk of Peace loop trail from Kobarid to Cividale del Friuli/Čedad. This section brings together the two main elements that characterise the entire itinerary: the panoramic view of the front line of the Twelfth Battle of the Isonzo, thanks to the many vantage points that allow visitors to enjoy a sweeping and complete picture of everything below and around Mount Matajur and, at the same time, the "direct contact" with the main landmarks of the same front line. This can happen through contact with the historical testimonies of Kobarid and the surrounding areas. This town is known both nationally and internationally for being the focal point of the 'retreat' that took its name from it and which, after years of conflict, pushed the Italian troops back to the Piave line.

    Author’s recommendation

In Livek, take the time to walk through the Thematic Route which allows visitors to explore seven interesting sites of interest.

In Kobarid, a visit to the "Walk of Peace" Visitor Centre  and the Charnel House is also highly recommended.
