The stage starts from Dom Trenta, a couple of kilometers from which there is an Austro-Hungarian cemetery, and climbs along the Soča River Trail up to its source. It then continues, skirting Vršič and reaching the point where in March 1916, 110 Russian prisoners involved in the construction of the road died. With a short detour, it is possible, under the Šupca viewpoint, to admire the remains of a cable car dating back to the Great War. Reaching the Vršič pass, the route continues to the Tičarjev dom refuge and the remains of some bunkers from the time of the Treaty of Rapallo. After ascending to Poštarski dom, the descent towards Kranjska Gora begins. Near the Erjavčeva koča refuge you can see two burial sites of Russian prisoners. Once above Stari Tamar, the route continues along the Vršič road and proceeds along the path to the Russian Chapel. Then it descends again to Mali Tamar, Jasna lake, and finally to Kranjska Gora, the end of the stage.
