The Alto Resia Stream

The transparency of its waters is as legendary as the marble trout and the brown trout that populate it.

It springs at a high altitude on Mount Canin and flows for 15 kilometres down into the Resia Valley, between gorges and large boulders, the remains of a moraine cordon eroded over the centuries. In the past, it was one of the most famous rivers in Italy for recreational fishing, also because of its valley floor, which was once also rich in grayling.

The challenge in its waters is to catch wild and untamed trout. Silence, going downstream to continue up the valley, a low profile, the use of the right bait and the perfect cast in the best water conditions are the elements that really make the difference in a technical fishing site with an incredible naturalistic appeal.
The clarity of the water combined with the right strategy opens the way for both “blind fishing” and “sight fishing,” adding even more excitement to your adventure.
