Alpine Ski World Cup: Tarvisio’s “Di Prampero” slope ready to welcome women’s world-class skiing after 15 years. Ticket sales open to the public on November 17

On January 17 and 18, 2026, the races will take place in Valcanale, accompanied by a series of side events including the debut of the digital assistant “Neve.ai” and the educational video game “Super (FV)G”, which allows players to ski in 3D on Mount Lussari.

Trieste, October 29, 2025 – Public ticket sales for the Tarvisio leg of the 2025/2026 FIS Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup will officially open on November 17, 2025, marking the long-awaited return of the event to Friuli Venezia Giulia after fifteen years.
For the fourth time in its history, the Valcanale resort will host two speed events — downhill and super-G — scheduled for Saturday, January 17, and Sunday, January 18, 2026. These races, part of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup, will be decisive for athletes seeking the final points to qualify for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
Traditionally held in Cortina d’Ampezzo, the January World Cup weekend will instead feature Tarvisio’s “Di Prampero”, nearly 4 km long — the longest course on the women’s World Cup circuit — and one of the most iconic slopes in the Julian Alps.
The “Tarvisio Ski World Cup” Organising Committee, together with all regional stakeholders, has been working for months to coordinate the operational phases. The event will bring together the world’s top female speed skiers for a weekend that could prove decisive on the road to the Olympics.
The competition is promoted by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region through PromoTurismoFVG, with the support of FIS (International Ski and Snowboard Federation), FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation), the Municipality of Tarvisio, and the Tourist Promotion Consortium of Tarvisio, Sella Nevea and Passo Pramollo.
Following the successful experience of the 2025 FIS Junior World Championships hosted in March, the organising team will once again coordinate a network of over 200 volunteers, engaging seven regional ski clubs under FISI FVG: Sci Cai XXX Ottobre, ASD Sci Club Monte Lussari, US Camporosso, ASD Cimenti Sci Carnia, Sci Club Monte Canin, ASD Sci Club 70, and ASD Sci Club Monte Dauda, along with students from the Bachmann Ski College in Tarvisio.
A cohesive team, well-tested in hosting major sporting events, will also strengthen cross-border cooperation between Italy, Austria, and Slovenia, embracing the symbolic message of the “Three Borders”.
The event will further consolidate the structured collaboration with the Landesskiverband Kärnten (Carinthian State Ski Federation), the SloSki Institute, and the Kranjska Gora World Cup Organising Committee (hosting its women’s races on January 3–4, 2026). A joint promotional partnership will soon be announced, aiming to highlight both weekends. Students from neighbouring Austrian and Slovenian schools will also be invited to attend the races free of charge.

The “Di Prampero” slope: a symbol of speed and history
The undisputed star of the event will be the “Di Prampero” slope, descending from the village of Monte Lussari (1,800 m a.s.l.) down to Camporosso (817 m a.s.l.), covering 3,920 metres with a vertical drop of nearly 1,000 metres.
With widths ranging from 28 to 108 metres, the course alternates between jumps, steep sections, and high-speed glides, making it the longest and one of the most spectacular tracks on the women’s World Cup circuit.
Extremely technical and varied, with an average gradient of 26.5% and maximum slopes reaching 47%, it is considered one of the most beautiful runs in the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia region and across the Eastern Alps.
Completely north-facing, the slope guarantees excellent snow conditions and perfect surface stability for speed races.
Its impressive record includes three previous World Cup editions (2007, 2009, 2011), over sixty European Cup races, the 2003 Winter Universiade, and the 2002 and 2025 Junior World Championships.

Location and logistics
The Valcanale area, and Tarvisio in particular, is preparing to welcome the participating nations, athletes, teams, supporters, and international media. In partnership with the Tourist Consortium of Tarvisio, Sella Nevea and Passo Pramollo, dozens of accommodation facilities will be involved across Tarvisio, Malborghetto-Valbruna, and nearby Carinthian and Slovenian towns within a 20 km radius.
Facilities include:
  • Ski Room for teams at the Tarvisio Tennis Club;
  • Sports Hall for fitness and physiotherapy sessions;
  • Main Race Office, Accreditation Centre, and Anti-Doping Centre in Via Priesnig, near the Golf Club (the event headquarters);
  • Media Centre located in the finish area at Camporosso;
  • Team Captain Meetings at the Julius Kugy Cultural Centre in central Tarvisio;
  • Team Hospitality Area on Monte Lussari hosted at Baita Al Rododendro.

How to attend
Tickets for the Tarvisio Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup will be available online from November 17, 2025, via Vivaticket and directly through the official website www.tarvisioskiworldcup.it.
Sales will remain open until race days or until all 1,114 seats are sold out. Prices range from €20 (central grandstand) to €12 (side sections). Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. both days. Spectators must present their “print-at-home” ticket, either in paper format or digitally on a mobile device.
The grandstand is divided into three sectors — Central, West, and East — with non-numbered seats. A dedicated information desk will be set up next to the stands to provide on-site assistance. Reduced tickets (–50%) are available for children under 14, while persons with disabilities and one companion can access the designated area free of charge, subject to reservation via accreditation@tarvisioskiworldcup.it. A special partnership with Kranjska Gora’s organising committee will also allow a limited number of spectators to attend both events; details will be announced on the website.

A logo that tells a story
The new official logo of the Tarvisio Ski World Cup draws inspiration from vintage ski posters of the 1940s and 1950s: a retro-style skier set against the Monte Mangart, symbol of the Julian Alps.
This design blends tradition and modernity, continuing the visual identity established for the 2025 Junior World Championships, and celebrates Tarvisio’s legacy as the “Land of Three Borders.”
The official website — www.tarvisioskiworldcup.it — is now live, offering preliminary information on the programme, venues, and useful visitor details. Updates and behind-the-scenes stories will also be shared through the official social channels @tarvisioskiworldcup on Facebook and Instagram, as well as the FIS digital platforms.

Innovation on the slopes: Neve.ai, the new digital assistant
One of the season’s key innovations, Neve.ai, will debut in mid-December as the digital assistant for mountain lovers in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Developed by PromoTurismoFVG as part of its digitalisation strategy, the AI-powered service enhances visitor experience before, during, and after major events. Accessible directly via smartphone, Neve.ai provides real-time updates on ski runs, weather conditions, events, dining options, and local attractions — fully multilingual and personalised to each user.
This tool becomes a strategic asset for promoting Tarvisio and the wider region, offering smart, seamless access to information for tourists and fans alike.

“Super (FV)G”: an educational ski video game
The Friulian company Simtech, a national leader in educational 3D games, has launched “Super (FV)G”, a browser-based edugame created in partnership with PromoTurismoFVG to celebrate the Tarvisio World Cup.
The game recreates the legendary “Di Prampero” slope in 3D, allowing players to experience the thrill of racing while learning about safety and mountain awareness. With Beginner and Advanced modes and a global leaderboard, players from around the world can challenge each other for the fastest run.  Available now at 👉 fvg.ski/i
