Casera Morareto is a charming agriturismo with grazing livestock, immersed in the green pastures and wonderful varieties of flowers (gentians, rhododendrons, ...), land of many marmots.

Giovanni and Olinto Marinelli Refuge is the highest alpine refuge in Friuli Venezia Giulia, situated at 2,120 m a.s.l. near Forcella Moraret.

Built in 1901, modified and expanded several times. The most recent renovation dates back to 2001 and resulted in a structure with 50 beds and a terrace with a magnificent panoramic view.

    Safety information

For winter/spring months use crampons, snowshoes or alpine skis if needed but ATTENTION TO THE AVALANCHE BULLETIN.

For greater safety do not go beyond Casera Morareto and always check the weather and avalanche bulletins.

    Tips and suggestions

If it is a particularly hot and sunny summer day, it is advisable to start early to avoid being in the upper part of the route at noon where the sun hits (from Casera Morareto to Marinelli is all in the sun)

    Directions

From regional road 355, at the town of Forni Avoltri, turn towards Collina (7 km), pass the village and continue for another 2 km until reaching the large parking lot at Rifugio Tolazzi where the paved road ends.
