Bosco Piuma, located just outside
Gorizia and overlooking the
Isonzo, is one of the most popular
outdoor destinations in Friuli Venezia Giulia without having to stray too far from the city. This 32-hectare green area is perfect for a relaxing day, with
beautiful walks and views of the river.
In the lower part of the park, next to the Isonzo, there is a partly paved
path, ideal for family walks. There are also
tables and benches for picnic lunches a children's play area and a
booksharing bench.
The hilly part of the forest, rich in
chestnuts, wild cherry trees, oaks, and hornbeams, offers the perfect setting for a
country hike.
In the area called '
Remuda’, there is a picnic area with
barbecue stations spread across two paved areas, while the area by the river features additional tables and benches: it is free to use all year round and cannot be reserved.
The entire forest features
thematic signs illustrating the local flora and fauna, making it a fun and interesting visit for children and school groups.
