10 thousand steps of health FVG - SEDEGLIANO

The route develops over a flat area of morainic origin between the localities of Gradisca and Sedegliano. The starting point is planned at the entrance of the sports field of Sedegliano. The Castelliere is a fortified settlement dating back to the Early Bronze Age. Walking along the outer part of the Castelliere, you cross a strip of land rich in local flora. After crossing a small bridge, continue on a dirt road to cross the paved cycle path, then turn left towards Gradisca. At the end of the cycle path, there is an icon in memory of the Soldier Francesco de Campo who died in 1917. Continuing along Via della Chiesa, you arrive at the “Cortina di Gradisca,” remains of an ancient fortified area defending farmers against barbarians, where the church of Santo Stefano Protomartire stands. Following the moat, continue to the small church of San Giorgio, built in the 1400s. Turning right towards the center of Gradisca, you can admire Palazzo Venier, an 18th-century building. Resuming the cycle path in the direction of Sedegliano, you reach the main town where the Palazzo Birarda-Manin, the current town hall, is located. Facing the square, you see the church of Sant’Antonio Abate.

Retracing the same route, after about 900 meters you return to the starting point.
