10 Thousand Steps of Health FVG - MANZANO

The route, nearly 9 km long, explores the rural area of the Manzano territory between the watercourses of the Torre and Natisone rivers.

The starting and ending point is the Casa delle Associazioni in Manzinello, not far from the heart of the village and the church of Santa Margherita. After crossing the SP 78, a long gravel avenue leads to the secondary entrance of Villa Piccoli Brazzà Martinengo, surrounded by a large park. Walking alongside the property's fence, you reach the Soleschiano Oak and, passing the majestic centuries-old tree, the main front of the villa immediately appears. A few steps away is the church of SS. Ermacora and Fortunato, from whose small square a gap opens that leaves the buildings to open onto the countryside. A short unpaved stretch lies along the straight road descending towards the San Lorenzo cemetery, a nearby hamlet that hosts the homonymous church of San Lorenzo, as well as the house of Caterina Percoto, a famous literary author.

You then arrive at the cemetery, where a white road that runs along its perimeter continues south to the small bridge over the Roggia. From here, moving on the paved path, a detour to the right allows you to reach the historic Molino Stel, now a guesthouse. After crossing the crossing over the Rio Manganizza and the Roggia, you follow the paved route that ends in the small locality of Casali Birri; the walk then climbs along a dirt path that follows the course of the creek first and then the Torre stream, cutting across the fields towards Soleschiano and finally returning to Manzinello.
