The trail winds through the hills overlooking the Stevenà area, mostly following trails and mule tracks and only for a short distance two secondary roads in Caneva. It is suitable for hikers of average fitness, having a length of about 8 km and almost 400 m of positive elevation gain. It can be hiked year-round although it can be very hot in summer.
The trail starts just upstream from the square in Caneva near a historic fountain. We take via Tambruz and follow it for about a kilometer until we reach the mouth of the bocca de Val, next to the entrance to one of the many quarries in the Caneva area. From here we take a mule track that climbs in the direction of Caneva Castle, located on the top of Col de Fer. Instead, halfway up we deviate into the valley, passing a quarry amphitheater and continue on the opposite side climbing up to the locality "Terra rossa" (1.8 km from the start).
The trail now continues uphill with steep and relatively rough sections along a mule track between ancient terraces now invaded by vegetation. We then arrive on a forest track (2.5 km from the start), which we will follow in a gentle up and down until we reach the locality of Pian Salere (4.5 km from the start). From here we descend along the ancient Madonna degli Scalini path that from Stevenà goes up to the Lamar locality and Cansiglio. We descend to the Madonnina and then come out along the foothill road (5.5 km from the start). We now continue along the asphalt road for about 1 km (6.5 km from the start), then deviate to a dirt road that then goes through fields and patches of woods until we return to Tambruz Street and the starting point.
