10 thousand steps of health FVG - AIELLO DEL FRIULI

“Green Route” joins the most significant places in Aiello del Friuli and Joannis. The starting point is in Joannis, at the parish church of St. Agnes. After a short stretch on an asphalt road, passing some villas from the Austro-Hungarian era, you reach Villa Ines, beside which a path runs through the Aiello countryside. Part of the path is covered entirely by trees, so that this section is called “the Gallery.” This leads to the beginning of the dirt roadway that allows you to reach the village of Novacco.

As you proceed, you reach the road that connects Strassoldo with Joannis. You cross it and follow it for about fifty meters, paying particular attention to the quite heavy traffic. Then you take a country lane that, after about twenty minutes of walking, allows you to reach the “groi,” a place between springs and cultivated fields.

You reach the main road between Privano and Joannis at the height of the Medieval Centa. Then, soon reaching the sidewalk, you return to the church of St. Agnes.

Everywhere you can see the sundials that have characterized the area for a few decades.
