A simple and picturesque route at the foot of the rocky bastions of the Musi Mountains, the trail runs at an elevation between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, in a typically mountainous landscape in direct contact with the rocky chain of Monte Musi.
Among the lesser-known areas of the
Julian Prealps Natural Parkthe Upper Torre Valley is notable both for its variety of environments from a naturalistic point of view and for its historical significance due to its geographical position on the border with Slovenia. The trail, which leads from the small village of Simaz to Pian dei Ciclamini, allows you to get to know the peculiarities of this territory in depth with little effort. Groves, meadows with stunning blooms, stream beds, and broom-covered prairies frequently alternate along the ancient path that once connected the huts and pastures along the Mea stream valley. By following the illustrative tables placed along the trail, one can easily discover its main features.
The return trip requires retracing the same route. Starting point: Simaz, Lusevera.
