Snowshoeing: Bottom of the valley trail

Where: Forni di Sopra (Carnia, Udine)

In Forni di Sopra there is an itinerary to be followed with snowshoes, where breathtaking views and enchanting landscapes provide unforgettable emotions

Length: 3.5 km short route; 8 km long route.
Departure: area behind the Sports Facilities in Davost, at the playground area.
Difficulty: easy. Forest trail and CAI 362 path.
Difference in height: 150 m.
Signs: follow the direction signs "percorso ciaspe" and "mountain bike".

From Davost on the valley floor, you will be able to follow a marked 8-km-long route (long route) as far as Forni di Sopra. The itinerary starts from the area of the skiing facilities in Davost. From here leave in the direction of the forest road that indicates the Flaiban Pacherini Alpine Hut and follow it as far as Palas. Here, the CAI Path n. 362 will lead you to the bridge on the Tagliamento, where you will decide whether to continue the tour or not (short route). If you want to continue the adventure, follow the road on your right until reaching the headquarters of the hydroelectric company of Forni di Sopra. On your left, the forest road will lead you to the end of the uphill climb. Before the Rovadia Valley enter the wood - paying much attention to the signs! - and follow the course of the river that, along a narrow road, will lead you back to the main road and to the bridge on the Tagliamento, from which you will go back to the wonderful town of Forni di Sopra.
