The
Olbe Lakes are three glacial basins that hold within them the wonder of an unspoiled alpine world. The bodies of water, nestled in a small plateau where rocks, meadows, and water tell the silence of the Alps, reflect images of austere and fascinating mountains.
In the
summer, the
Miravalle and Olbe chairlifts allow even the less experienced to reach the
Rifugio 2000 and continue on foot to the lakes, which reach an altitude of
2,156 meters.
The path from Rifugio 2000 to the lake area offers a comprehensive view of a fascinating and unique reality where the natural landscape integrates with ancient alpine farming activities. It is often possible to encounter friendly grazing cows near the eastern basin, the largest of the three bodies of water.
In sight of the rocky ridge that was the front line in 1915, where the sky borders the Dolomites to the west, these water pearls await you to spend a day in the intimacy of the Carnic Alps.
