The refuge is a great point for panoramas. Closed only to the north by the rocky ridge of monte Righile / monte Lastroni, your gaze will be cast across an uninterrupted sequence of peaks and valleys, from the abyssal view of the valley of Sappada to the enchanting landscapes of the Coglians, pushing on to the Terze, and the distant Julian Alps and Pre-alps.

This suggestion that, overall, at times is a little 'tiring, but solitary and sunny in the various environments that it crosses. The view of Sappada and the crags that surround it to the south is almost constant. It is recommended for those who wish to come to the refuge by traditional means, that is, trudging up through nature, possibly using the oh-so-comfortable and fast lifts only up to the Piani di Gront, but that will never be an integral part of the environment.
