Torrente Pichions

Before joining the Vinadia, this water course offers the spectacle of a splendid waterfall.
Immediately before its confluence into the Vinadia, the Pichions creek models an interesting, suggestive yet very short gorge. The itinerary is hereby described as a reality in its own right, though it's undoubetdly recommended to undertake as access way to the way longer descent of the Vinadia.
Once arrived at the confluence, it is better to keep going and proceed following the indications as quoted in the Vinadia data sheet. The route is equipped accordind to the ProCanyon standards.

Description

Bed access point coordinates: 46.44554111, 12.95097258
Dowstream access
From State road 52: At Villa Santina, take the road to Lauco. After passing this hamlet, keep driving following the indications to Vinaio. Shortly before the built up area and the bridge over the Vinadia, you can leave the car in the open space (bus stop).
Upstream access
From the point marked as downstream access, keep driving over the Vinaio built up area, and park in lay-by near the bridge over the Pichions creek.
Once in the creek, follow the bed as it runs wide and flat for about 250mt. Then the environment suddenly changes, the gorge closes and the creek originates the first waterfall
P 6 chain over tree to the Dx
P 6 resined resting group to the Dx + 1 resined bolt for deflector to the Dx
P 16+4 resined resting group to the Dx + 2 resined bolts for handrail + 1 resined bolt for int. point
Pay attention to the flow return to the left by the small pool, at the base of the 16mt slope. Dive to the right so to let the flow carry you to the next threshold, which you will pass by proceeding some more meter with the same rappel.
P 19 resined resting group to the Dx + 1 resined bolt to the Dx for deflector
Attention: The waterfall is especially treacherous. Use deflector.
Here we are to the confluence with the true Vinadia Creek.
To exit, take to the right and easily go up the Vinadia. In this stretch, you can enjoy a remarkable sight: An immense slab of the smooth side, which came away and now leans to the other slope of the gorge. Proceeding (uphill) along the tourist itinerary (red marks), in a few minutes you will reach a right-side tributary, usually dry, which you must walk up until you meet the trail tracks that – reascending a wooded scarp – lead to a road nearby a substation a few meters away from the point marked as dowstream parking lot.
