Description
Drive state road 13 toward Tarvisio. Shortly after the junction with state road #52, after passing the Carnia Hotel, drive for 1.5Km more until you find a left-turn curve (Km 172) preceded by a brown roadsign reading “Moggio Udinese”. Notice to the right the visibile lot where to park, in correspondence of the exit from Lavarie Brook gorge, to which the Barbar Brook is connected.

At Tugliezzo, drive down for about 200mt and park nearby the bridge over Lavarie Brook. Before the bridge, to the left, a visible trail closed by a metal barrier delves into the wood (ProCanyon roadmark) and allows you to reach the creek bed in a few minutes.
Here you can notice the remains of an old bridge. The trail proceeds into the woods, on the opposite bank, in correspondence of those remains. Walking it, wade through two very small water courses, after which you can glimpse the Barbar Brook bed, which you can reach by abandoning the trail and shortly hiking down with no obligated route. About 15 minutes to the car.

escape routes and return
Just as it began, the narrow part ends. From here, in 5 minutes you can reach the open space at the exit of the gorge.
How to read the data sheet
C = rappel equipped point
AN = natural ancorage
MC = handrail
PI = halfway point
DEV = Deviation
DIS = downclimb
TB = toboga
TF = leap
The notation Dx (right) and Sx (left), relative to the rappel points, the handrail, deviations, etc., always indicate the creek orographic bank, where they are positioned. For instance, DEV Sx indicates that the deviation lays on the left bank, and not to the left of the canyoner that will face the deviation.
