If you walk along the path through the woods, you find yourself at the top of this spectacular cave of decent dimensions with its 48 metres in width and height. Used already in ancient times (in the 1960s ruins dating back to the era of the castellieri (fortified boroughs) and the Neolithic era were found) this cavity was also used by the military at the beginning of the 20th century and precisely for stocking ammunition and supplies.
From a point of view of historical evidence, the cave does not offer much as there are no tangible traces of the presence of soldiers, except for the steps dug out of the rock along the stony slope that facilitates the descent towards the entrance (be careful climbing down them). It is interesting however as you can see with your own eyes typical natural phenomena of this area, which is the underground Karst hypogeum.
At the top of the steps, however, you can see the remains of what was probably the guard hut, built here to control the soldiers coming in and out and, consequently, the material and food leaving the warehouse below
