Attimis is a low-altitude location in the Eastern Hills of Friuli, famous for its excellent wines and characterized by a significant medieval historical heritage, as evidenced by the site of Partistagno Castle (reachable on foot), the remains of the Lower and Upper Castles, and the materials displayed at the Attimis Medieval Archaeological Museum, where the atmosphere of daily life during the feudal era is recreated thanks to its extensive collection of artefacts and weapons, with some fine examples of regional medieval sculpture. Also of interest are the small churches of Saints Silvestro and Elena in Racchiuso, with precious 16th-century frescoes by the painter Giampaolo Thanner, or the Church of Sant'Antonio Abate, as well as the rural villages like Poiana, Subit, or Porzus, with its terraced plots bordered by dry-stone walls.
