Stregna

Stregna is a mountainous municipality with an almost exclusively pre-Alpine territory, featuring chestnut and beech forests. The meadows, once used for grazing, are found near Lower Tribil and between the villages of Upper Tribil and Dughe.
In all the small villages, such as Dernetig, Oblizza, Dughe, and the already mentioned Upper and Lower Tribil, the typical architecture of Slavia can be seen: houses with wooden balconies (paju), barns (seniki) visible in the meadows of Planino, and traditional shelters (skedinji and kazoni) once used for livestock and agricultural products. Small Slovenian Gothic-style votive chapels are also present, located on the heights overlooking the villages. These chapels, such as the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle (Cernetig), the churches of Saint John (Lower and Upper Tribil), and the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Oblizza, seem to confirm their ancient function as watchtowers, facilitating communication between villages and valleys.
In Upper and Lower Tribil, a bonfire is lit during the night between June 23rd and 24th to celebrate the feast of Saint John, while in October, tribute is paid to the chestnut, a vital resource for the inhabitants of these valleys, with the Burnjak, the great chestnut festival.
Of particular interest are the trails on Mount Cum (Hum), where visitors can discover traces left by the Great War of 1915-1918.
