PAFF! The Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli in Pordenone

What are Leonardo da Vinci, Katsushika Hokusai and Pablo Picasso doing under the same roof? The answer is simple, they are an original and humorous expression of: comics! And they are accompanied by many other great figures in the history of art: Dürer, Velázquez, Toulouse-Lautrec, Klimt, Picasso, and more.

The “home” of all these artists is the PAFF!, the brand-new Palazzo Arti Fumetto Friuli in Pordenone, inaugurated last December and created thanks to an idea of Giulio De Vita, a comic book artist of Pordenone and, author of the legendary Tex, as well as other characters.

A visit to the museum is a real journey through the history of art, starting from the Lascaux Caves: following the adventures of Luna, a young girl with red hair, and her lively kitten Vincent mewing in the background, we can discover the events, background and anecdotes of the Masters of Art that share a real common theme through the exhibition tour. More than one hundred works, by the versatile Serbian artist Gradimir Smudja, feature much precision. Highly colourful giant photos, distorting mirrors and suspended cubes: the exhibition is interactive, fun, interesting, eccentric and poetical!

"Da Leonardo a Picasso. Viaggio a fumetti nella Storia dell'Arte" (From Leonardo to Picasso. A Journey through the History of Art in Comics) can be visited from Tuesdays to Fridays, from 3.30pm - 6.30pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am – 8pm. In addition, every Saturday and Sunday guided visits to the exhibition are available at 3pm. The PAFF!
