Canoeing with Molmenti

The Val Tramontina is a valley of the Carnic Prealps carved over the centuries by the river Meduna.  It is an ideal destination for those who love sports such as trekking, climbing and descents in MTB but also paragliding and canoeing.
Ovidio said “Rowing is like dreaming far away from the world that surrounds us” and doing it on the Lake of Redona, surrounded by the mountains and by its crystal waters is truly something special.

The submerged city of Redona
Sinking the paddle underwater knowing that there, just a few metres away are the submerged remains of the villages of Flors, Movada and Redona Vecchia is something amazing, something that nourishes the soul, body and mind. Sometimes sport and contact with nature are a natural therapy, an opportunity to get to know oneself and rediscover nature.
Ri.Natura knows it well and organized the “Canoeing with a Champion” event thanks to which adults and children had the opportunity to canoe with the Olympic champion Daniele Molmenti and discover the uncontaminated beauty of the Lake of Redona.
The uncontaminated lands of Val Tramontina frame this splendid artificial lake where contact with nature is the essence of these places.

Sport on the Lake of Redona
If you want to experience the Wild and like me, enjoy the fantastic experience of paddling on the calm and relaxing water of the Lake of Redona all you have to do is take part in one of these events organized by Ri.Natura or contact Canoa Club Naonis or Barbasso Nature Culture.
Thanks to their support you will be able to have a go at this sport and explore uncontaminated areas, see the remains of submerged towns and above all experience a real adventure surrounded by nature.
In a canoe, you can discover the most authentic beauty of these places from a different perspective, its coves, the rocky walls and then leave the canoe at the lakeside, and go for beautiful excursions along paths immersed in the woods.
Thanks to the beauty of Val Tramontina you will forget the effort of paddling and will be fascinated by the beauty of the lake and its views.  Immersed in the silence and calm of these uncontaminated places.

Where to stay

Federica Canton

Born in 1988, I have always loved sport and outdoor life. I try to spend all the time I can doing any type of activity that allows me to be surrounded by nature. A former competitive swimmer, I now cycle, run, ski and walk in the mountains of my region, also trying my hand at paddling a SUP. And my motto? As long as my heart beats, as long as my legs hold up.
