Pignolo is the rediscovered gem of the Colli Orientali del Friuli territory. This ancient grape variety, almost extinct, was saved in 1978 thanks to two vines from the Abbey of Rosazzo. Today, it offers a deep ruby wine that ages beautifully. Its complex bouquet of red fruit and spices is enriched by ageing in wood. On the palate, it reveals character and enveloping tannins. Perfect with grilled meats and seasoned cheeses, Pignolo is a dive into the winegrowing history of Friuli.
