Drenchia-Castelmonte/Dreka-Stara gora Route - Alpe Adria Trail

An exciting experience that, on an ideal journey, starts from the Sanctuary of Mount Lussari, at an altitude of 1790 meters, and reaches Castelmonte, near Cividale del Friuli, through a scenic route along the valley of the Isonzo River (Soca in Slovenia). It reaches the picturesque points of the Natisone Valleys territory. In the Municipality of Drenchia, the route passes through the locations of Clabuzzaro and Tribil (upper and lower) and leads us to the sanctuary of Castelmonte, which stands on the top of a mountain 618 meters above sea level. Its foundation dates back to the 5th century, and it was built under the influence of the Patriarchate of Aquileia. The sanctuary hosts a brotherhood of Capuchin friars and offers shelter to pilgrims.
