The route runs through the Natisone Valleys, in the easternmost part of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The route starts from Cividale del Friuli, a ducal city and UNESCO heritage site, heading northeast, to conquer Monte Matajur, which at 1641 meters is the symbol of this area, on the border between Italy and Slovenia. It reaches Pulfero, Montemaggiore and Lower Tribil, up to Trivio. Heading south, it continues towards Prepotto and Spessa Alta to return to Cividale del Friuli.

After a 96-kilometer ride, it is possible to stop or take on an incredible challenge: to set off again towards Masarolis after leaving behind the towns of Faedis, Attimis and Porzus. The route that extends for 142 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 2300 meters, ends at Cividale del Friuli. The itinerary retraces the route of the charity race “Corsa per Haiti”, a multi-decade event organized to raise funds.
