The Cormòr Cycling Route: From Udine to Marano Lagunare (P029)

The route along the Cormor Canal is the most direct bike path between Udine and Marano Lagunare. Although it does not always run alongside the canal—due to varying accessibility along its banks—the route faithfully follows its course, crossing the Friuli plain south of Udine and offering views and landscapes that gradually change along the way. The route passes through towns rich in history and traditions, such as Pozzuolo del Friuli—linked to events in Italian military history—and Mortegliano, famous for Italy’s tallest bell tower and for producing high-quality polenta flour. As you venture deeper into the Bassa Friulana, the Cormor Canal becomes an ever-present feature, accompanying cyclists all the way to San Gervasio and finally to Marano Lagunare, a charming fishing village overlooking the lagoon, a guardian of ancient traditions and an authentic atmosphere.
