PN2027 - Cycling through villas and villages, between the Livenza and Meduna Rivers (R073)

The route winds through an area rich in history and art, particularly from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The route begins in Pordenone, Italy’s Capital of Culture for 2027. You’ll cycle toward Porcia, where a stop at Villa Correr Dolfin is well worth it. Continue west toward the Livenza River, which you’ll reach near Cavolano, an ancient village where the river once was crossed. You’ll descend toward Brugnera and pass by the historic Villa Varda, with its large park. Once you reach Ghirano, you’ll cycle toward Pordenone along the banks of the Meduna River through the Pordenone countryside. You’ll pass through Prata di Pordenone, where the parish church dedicated to Saint Lucy is worth a visit for its frescoes. You’ll cycle toward Pordenone through the vast Pordenone countryside until you reach Lake Burida and the Pordenone train station, where this excursion began.
