FVG7 Friuli Cycleway (C700)

The Friuli ciclovia del Friuli begins in Gemona del Friuli and along the way passes through Osoppo, from whose fort there is a splendid view of the Tagliamento River and the Risorgive di Bars nature reserve. From San Daniele del Friuli, you begin pedaling along the Corno stream and canals to the land of castellieri between Mereto di Tomba and Codroipo. The majestic Villa Manin opens to the cyclo-traveler at the end of the "stradone Manin," a stretch of dirt road among the greenery. After a visit to the Villa and the park, you continue this itinerary from which there is a splendid view of the Alpine arc. You proceed eastward along agricultural villages characterized by typical Friulian stone houses: you pass through Bertiolo, Talmassons, Castions di Strada and Gonars. The last kilometers lead to Palmanova, a star-shaped fortress city and UNESCO site, where the journey ends in the Piazza Grande.
