Climb of the Giro d'Italia Arta Terme - Sappada (P014)

The 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2024 starts in Mortegliano, south of Udine, nestled in the rural landscape. It boasts the tallest bell tower in Italy, built between 1955 and 1959 by Udine architect Pietro Zanini and measuring more than 113 meters in height. Together with the cathedral, it is the symbol of the city and an important visual reference for the entire surrounding plain. The stage passes through San Daniele del Friuli, Peonis, Tolmezzo and Arta Terme. It continues with some ups and downs to Paularo, Rigolato and Forni Avoltri, across Passo Duron at 1076 meters above sea level.
The highest point is Cima Sappada, at the foot of Monte Siera, at 1290 meters above sea level and from which you finally reach the finish: Sappada, a renowned mountain resort framed by the Dolomites and located in the northwest of Friuli Venezia GIulia, on the border with Veneto.
The gpx route begins near Arta Terme, a locality equipped with parking and services from which to begin the mountain section of the 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia to Sappada.
