The route starts in Gemona del Friuli, a symbol of rebirth after the 1976 earthquake and considered one of the most beautiful historic localities in the area. The ride continues north to Ospedaletto, a historic hamlet that once welcomed traveling pilgrims and where the old Cocconi Mill still stands. The foothills of the Alps create an evocative backdrop that welcomes the cyclist as he or she continues on the family outing, accompanied by the Tagliamento River, the king of Alpine waterways and a faithful companion of the excursion. Finally, we reach Venzone, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the only 14th-century fortified town in all of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Here, with its walls, it is impossible not to feel like a medieval knight. You can return to Gemona del Friuli by regional train, or by bicycle along the same route.
Attractions:
-Historic center and medieval walls of Venzone
-Mummies (Cathedral of Venzone)
