This itinerary takes in the most enchanting places in hilly Friuli, characterized by ancient manors and breathtaking views.
The loop starts from San Daniele towards the Castles of Arcano and Fagagna. In addition to the castles, you will explore the Col Roncone fort, built just before the start of World War I. The return is through the ancient villages of Battaglia, Madrisio, Pozzalis and Rive d'Arcano, until rejoining the Tagliamento cycle route (FVG6) at Villanova, and returning to San Daniele del Friuli.
Food & wine:

In Fagagna you can find pestàt, a preserve-condiment designed to preserve in pork lard the scents and flavors of vegetables and herbs from the gardens in the fall season.RECOMMENDED DISH: Crostino with pestàt paired with prosciutto di San Daniele DOP
