The Aquarium of Ariis is a freshwater museum that hosts the fish species from Friuli Venezia Giulia’s river ecosystem.
The river’s course from spring to mouth is shown inside the museum, with the sections showing the typical landscapes found on the river’s high mountain course, the middle course on the plane, the spring areas and the final segment of brackish water. The outside area shows a river course over a miniature marsh. Among the reeds you can see big fish swimming with tiny mosquitofish, while mallards float along and dragonflies fly by.
