There are two optimal periods to appreciate this trail:
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

Ticks are common in the area, so it's advised to learn about prevention and protection techniques: Tick information brochure for the FVG region (italian only).
The trail is not recommended after heavy rains as crossing the fords could be dangerous. It is also discouraged during the hottest summer hours.
There is no mobile phone coverage throughout the itinerary.
Please carry out all waste and strive to preserve the places you pass through as best as possible.
Please note that collecting plant species or parts thereof is prohibited within the Natural Park and may be subject to constraints under L.R. 7/2009 in external areas. You can consult the list of protected species at this link (italian only).
Remember that dogs must be kept on a leash within protected areas.
Bus:
In Val Torre, there is a single local public transport bus line available. To check schedules and stops, please view the PDF file at this link Line 260, or visit the TPL FVG website.
Train:
The nearest useful station is Tarcento, located approximately 15km from Borgo Simaz.
From Tarcento, follow SR646 towards Musi/Uccea until you reach the junction for Musi. Turn left onto the bridge following the sign for Musi, which you'll reach after approximately 1 km. Near the village, keep right twice, passing the Church of Musi, and continue until you reach the hamlet of Borgo Simaz, where the road ends.
From Resia, follow the signs for Sella Carnizza and continue towards Uccea, where you'll intersect SR646. Here, turn right and proceed for several kilometers until you reach the junction for Musi. Turn right onto the bridge and reach the village after about 1 km. Near the village, keep right twice, passing the Church of Musi, and continue until you reach the hamlet of Borgo Simaz, where the road ends.
PLEASE NOTE: The road between Uccea and Sella Carnizza often undergoes safety improvement works. Before following these directions, verify its accessibility.
